Advocacy Works & G100 Members Make It Happen
As we reflect on the most significant reforms to New York’s property and casualty insurance marketplace in decades, one theme stands out: grassroots engagement and the power of the Big I New York Group of 100 (G100).
When Big I New York hosted the New York P&C Insurance Summit in 2025 to shine a spotlight on the challenges facing our marketplace, G100 members showed up.
Throughout the summer and fall, G100 members met with lawmakers in their district offices, sharing firsthand insights into how fraud and excessive litigation were driving costs and negatively impacting consumers.
Then, in January of this year, just one week after the Governor unveiled her auto insurance reform proposal, G100 members were in Albany, urging legislators to support meaningful reforms.
These legislative successes did not happen by accident. They are the result of a sustained, coordinated effort by a dedicated network of grassroots advocates who understand the value of engagement and the importance of having our industry’s voice heard.
If you’re passionate about making a positive impact for your customers, your agency, and the insurance industry, and you’re interested in using your knowledge and influence to help shape public policy, you should consider joining the Group of 100.
Here’s what G100 member Clara Mendoza has to say about her G100 experience:
Success Stories
My time with G100 has taken me from sitting in small meetings with local leaders to sharing client testimony at a summit in Albany, and most recently advocating for insurance reform on Capitol Hill. At every level, I’ve seen how these conversations directly shape the policies affecting our clients and our industry. That tangible impact, knowing our voices actually move the needle, is exactly why I joined and why I stay involved.
