ACORD Revises NY Workers’ Comp Forms
Insurance industry standards-setting organization ACORD has announced new editions of two Workers’ Compensation coverage election forms used in New York. These are the first revisions to the forms in almost 30 years.
Form ACORD 172 NY (2026/05) replaces the 1996/07 edition. Titled Notice of Election of a Partnership, LLP, Professional LLP, LLC, Professional LLC or Sole Proprietorship to Bring Partners, Members or Self-Employed Persons Under the Coverage of The New York State Workers’ Compensation Law, the new edition aligns the form with New York Workers’ Compensation Board form C-105.32 (4/04).
Form ACORD 173 NY (2026/05) also replaces the 1996/07 edition. Title Notice of Election of an Incorporated Religious, Charitable, Educational, or U.S. War Veterans Organization to Bring Executive Officers Under the Coverage of the NY WC Law, the new edition aligns the form with New York Workers’ Compensation Board form C-105.3 (5/04).
The new editions are for use on and after May 2026. Agencies should begin using them as soon as they become available from their ACORD forms providers. ACORD’s form user’s license permits use of the prior versions only until the end of April 2027.
