ACORD Changes NY Forms
Insurance industry standards-setting organization ACORD has announced revisions to three application forms used in New York. The revisions, which carry a “2026/04” edition date, are for use on and after April 1.
The forms and their changes are:
- ACORD 62 NY Application For Dwelling Insurance – NY Property Insurance Underwriting Association (prior edition date 2009/04) – A reference to the anti-arson application has been removed since this application is no longer required. NYPIUA’s mailing address has been updated and the fraud warning has been corrected.
- ACORD 61 NY New York Auto Supplement – Optional Basic Economic Loss (OBEL) Coverage (prior edition date 1994/03) – The introductory paragraph has been updated. The list of basic No-Fault benefit items has been reformatted. An obsolete reference to “New York State Insurance Department” has been updated. A new “Optional Coverage Available” header in all caps has been added. Some wording has been changed and deleted to reflect a change in New York’s No-Fault insurance regulations.
- ACORD 64 NY New York Auto Supplement – Supplementary Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists Insurance Notice, Selection and/or Waiver (prior edition date 2018/06) – A cross reference to Supplemental Spousal Liability Coverage has been added and a grammatical correction made.
Insurance agencies should begin using the new editions as soon as their ACORD form vendors make them available.
