If you were born in an even numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an even numbered year. If you were born in an odd numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an odd numbered year. The effective and expiration dates appear on all licenses.
All business licenses expire on June 30 of odd-numbered years. If you have an Individual license in good standing, your individual CE requirements will cover your corporate CE requirements.

Life, Accident & Health
- 5-day program (all 5 classes are mandatory)
Property & Casualty (P&C)
- 14-day program (all 14 classes are mandatory)
- All online – no travel required!
- Successfully complete the class and pass our course exam in order to sit for New York State’s P+C license exam

Personal Lines Only
- 8-day program (attend the first eight days of our P&C class)
- All online – no travel required!
- Successfully complete the class and pass our course exam to sit for New York State’s Personal Lines license exam

Please note: You will have two attempts to pass the course exam within a 3-hour window that opens immediately at the end of the applicable class. A grade of 70% is required to gain a passing credit.

Exam Simulator
The Exam Simulator is a Windows-based computer program available via an online access code that simulates the Property & Casualty or Life, Accident & Health state exams as a supplement to classroom instruction and/or self-study materials.
PSI
Administers all licensing examinations for the Department of Financial Services. Exam reservations and payment can be made with PSI online under the Government/State Licensing Agencies Tab.
