Big I New York’s first-ever NextGen NYC Shamrock Social kicked off St. Patrick’s Day season in style, bringing together independent agents, carrier partners, and young professionals for an evening of connection and celebration at Connolly’s Pub in Times Square.

The event welcomed 40 agents and carrier representatives, filling the room with lively conversation, new introductions, and plenty of familiar faces reconnecting. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming, with attendees sharing career stories, exchanging ideas, and building new professional relationships across the independent agency community.

Guests enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and a relaxed setting designed to make networking feel natural and fun. One of the highlights of the evening was the Shamrock Social pot of “gold,” where four lucky attendees walked away with $50 cash prizes during drawings held throughout the night.

The energy in the room reflected exactly what NextGen events are meant to create: a space where emerging leaders in the insurance industry can connect, learn from one another, and strengthen the relationships that help drive the independent agency system forward.

Most importantly, the Shamrock Social reinforced something Big I New York is placing a major emphasis on this year — building stronger connections with members and industry professionals in New York City.

While Big I New York represents agencies across the entire state, expanding opportunities to engage in NYC is a key priority in 2026. Events like this allow us to spend more time with members and prospective members in the city, have meaningful conversations about the industry, and build relationships that support independent agents both professionally and personally.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to Connolly’s to make the evening such a success.

And this is just the beginning.

Big I New York is excited to continue hosting events and connecting with our NYC community throughout the year, creating more opportunities to gather, exchange ideas, and strengthen the independent agency network — all while having a little fun along the way.

Stay tuned for more NYC events ahead!
