Dec. 9, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York and Trusted Choice have teamed up with Make-A-Wish this fall for fundraising events and to surprise a New York media celebrity with a special honor.
Dec. 8, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) and the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) discussed a number of business issues during a three-hour meeting in Manhattan recently. The meeting, which participants described as productive, took place at the NYSIF offices in New York City on Oct. 29.
Oct. 9, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) has again received honors for its work in insurance education. It accepted the 2014 Excellence in Insurance Education (EIE) Diamond Award from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) at a ceremony in Grand Rapids, Michigan last month.
Oct. 1, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) today announced that New York City will be the site of a new, innovative insurance experience. The trade group will host the first-ever NYiDAY at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in Times Square on October 28.
June 24, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York today praised state lawmakers for including a role for insurance producers in a new task force on natural disasters. The New York State Assembly and Senate approved a measure creating the task force last week.
June 10, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York today commended the New York State Assembly for passing a bill to reform the use of certificates of insurance. The Assembly approved the measure, Senate Bill 6545-A, earlier today.
May 19, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) today praised the New York State Senate for passing a measure that would curb abuse of certificates of insurance. The bill, which IIABNY played a major role in developing, cleared the Senate by a large margin today.
May 15, 2014 - The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York recognized excellent performance by insurers, a local trade group, volunteers and associates in a ceremony this evening. Acting for the final time in his capacity as IIABNY chair of the board, Andrew Kaufman presented the awards at the association's 2014 Leadership Dinner, held following its 132nd Annual Business Meeting at the Hyatt Place in Riverhead, New York.
May 15, 2014 — Insurance agent James D. Sutton, CPCU, AAI, CIC led the list of officers elected today by members of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York, Inc. New York’s oldest insurance producer trade association installed Sutton as chair of the board at its 132nd Annual Business Meeting, held at the Hyatt Place in Riverhead. Members also elected and installed new regional and at-large directors for the 2014-2015 term.
May 8, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York today called on state lawmakers to pass measures to give businesses new protections under the Workers’ Compensation system.
May 5, 2014 - New York insurance agencies’ opinions of the insurers they represent are little changed from year-ago levels, an insurance producer trade group reported today. The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) said that the IIABNY Industry Index, a measure of agents’ and brokers’ satisfaction with insurers, rose for personal insurance companies and fell for those providing commercial insurance.

New York’s oldest insurance producer trade organization also got its highest legislative priority to the governor's desk, made the industry's case in the aftermath of the worst storm in recent memory, and provided educational programs that enhanced the professional credentials of producers all over the state.
