About
Travis Wattie, MPA, CPCU, is the AVP of Government Relations at Big I New York, where he represents the interests of independent insurance agents and brokers. He brings over a decade of experience in legislative advocacy, having led public policy efforts for both a national insurance carrier and a statewide healthcare association. Travis began his career in the New York State Assembly and has remained committed to serving communities and industries through policy engagement and education.
He holds a Master of Public Administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University at Albany. Travis has also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, further reinforcing his commitment to industry excellence.
A lifelong volunteer and former Eagle Scout, Travis is active in his community and has served in a variety of roles, including youth sports coach, booster club president, and church musician. He lives in Ballston Spa, NY, with his wife, Carrie, a special education teacher, and their two sons. As a family, they enjoy camping, traveling, and relaxing by the pool with their rescue dog, Tater.
