2025 Big I NY Local Leaders Summit
The annual Local Leaders Summit is an opportunity for local association leaders from across the state to share and learn from each other.
Over 20 leaders from each region of New York met this week in Cazenovia to share accomplishments and challenges from the past year. The group collaborated on ways to grow membership, attract new leaders, invest in member programs, give back to community and engage legislative ambassadors. The group was a great mix of new faces and experienced leaders, along with mentors from the Big I NY board of directors. Discussion was lively and all were engaged!
Leaders were also given a “playbook” of ideas to bring back to their fellow local leaders on ways to invigorate NextGen programs, attract new people to our industry, and year-round grassroots advocacy.
Bonds were formed at Meier’s Creek Brewing Company with “Get to Know You” activities led by Big I NY Chair of the Board, Kelly Gonyo. Delicious food and beverages, cornhole, and gathering around the fire pit rounded out the night.
Local leaders and Big I NY leaders gathered the following morning for a Town Hall breakfast and presentation by Support New York Chair of the Board sponsor, RT Specialty, followed by the Board of Directors meeting.
