ABOUT THE PROGRAM.

Leadership Academy is a hands-on professional development series that empowers insurance professionals at any level to lead with confidence, clarity, and purpose. This six-week program meets one day per week and is designed to be inclusive of all roles, whether you’re a rising team member or an experienced manager.

Leadership Academy 1 is the foundational course, focusing on self-leadership, building a championship culture, vision setting, and strategic planning. Participants identify strengths, address growth areas, and develop actionable tools to lead themselves and others, regardless of title or tenure.

Graduates of Leadership Academy 1 are invited to continue their development through Leadership Academy 2, a next-level course that explores advanced leadership strategies like co-elevation, fostering team excellence, and strategic influence. While optional, Leadership Academy 1 is a required prerequisite for enrollment in Leadership Academy 2.

Whether you’re new to leadership or looking to grow your impact, the Leadership Academy meets you where you are and helps take you where you want to go.


LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 1

Applications are open for Fall 2026 sessions beginning September 16

Day 1 | September 16: Levels of communication, principles of connection, diversity and inclusion, agency communication

Day 2 | September 23: Vision, direction, & inspiration; types of goals; goal planning; goal management

Day 3 | September 30: Setting expectation; structure; management vs. leading; motion and inspiration; case studies & questions

Day 4 | October 7: Team projects; ideal presentations; team building process; PowerPoint skills 

Day 5 | October 14: Leadership in the real world; the power of caring; candid coaching; real world leadership

Day 6 | October 21: Team projects, course wrap-up, awards ceremony; course evaluation

$2,900 for Big I NY members and $5,000 for non-members.

The course requires a workbook, included in the tuition cost.
