Trusted Choice Disaster Relief Fund

Available to assist those who have suffered losses due to natural or man-made disasters. The fund makes cash grants to those in the insurance industry, including Big “I” members, their agency staffs and others, to pay for immediate or ongoing financial needs when other funding sources such as insurance and other grants are not available.


Individuals and businesses that would like to assist those in need can donate to the fund. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law because the IIAA Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3). Donate Online

  • More than 10,000 Businesses: 
    There are more than 10,000 property casualty carriers, agencies and brokerages in NY
  • Large Employer: 
    More than 6,100 of those businesses employ one to four workers, 48 employ more than 500 workers
  • Invests in the State: 
    The P&C industry in NY invests about 44% of its bond portfolio in state and local municipal bonds creating benefits for the state’s taxpayers
  • 161,178 Jobs:
    NY P&C firms supported 161,178 jobs in 2012; resulting in $12.5 Billion in salaries & wages in 2012
  • $2.5 Billon in Taxes in 2012:
    The industry generated $2.5 billion in state and local taxes in 2012
  • Well Paid Workers:
    Average weekly wages in 2010 were higher than all other industries. Due to insurance productivity enhancements & expense reductions, insurance workers have experienced salary growth and consumers have enjoyed relatively lower insurance premiums (page 7)
  • Wage Growth:
    Average wage growth for the P&C sector or the past decade was almost double that of all private U.S. workers.
  • Effect on Additional Jobs:
    For every 1000 P&C jobs, Goff estimates an additional 588 jobs are supported in spillover impact
  • $150 Billion Impact:
    NY’s P&C Industry will produce an est. $150 Billion in overall impacts between 2012 & 2016
